Nymue is a cinematic progressive metalcore band blending metal with classical and film music influences.

The journey began in summer 2022 when Vincent van Zwieten and Thirza Fekkes arranged a full orchestral cover of a Baldrs Draumar track. Inspired by this project, they created more, including a symphonic version of Ayreon’s Scientist featuring Marcela Bovio and Reinier van Zwieten in April 2023.

In December 2023, guitarist Bastiaan Westerbeek joined for their powerful cover of The Phantom of the Opera. Along the way, Nymue collaborated with renowned artists like Jeffrey Revet (Stream of Passion) and Sjoerd Klaas Steegstra (Baldrs Draumar).

As a member of Nymue, I’ve rediscovered my passion for performing as a musician, something I had lost through my work as a studio, FOH, and mix/mastering engineer. Writing for Nymue allows me to fully express my musical creativity, and the connection within the band is unparalleled.
